Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept dental insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider with dental insurance plans, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t use your benefits at our office. Many dental insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that may help cover a portion of your periodontal or implant treatment.
Our team is happy to review your insurance information and help you understand your potential benefits.
What does it mean to be an out-of-network periodontist?
Being out of network simply means we do not have a contracted fee agreement with your dental insurance company.
This allows our periodontists to recommend treatment based on your individual needs, using the techniques, technology, and materials they believe are most appropriate for your care.
You may still have insurance benefits available, depending on your specific plan.
Can I use my PPO dental insurance at your office?
Many PPO dental insurance plans include out-of-network benefits. Depending on your coverage, you may be eligible for reimbursement or partial coverage for periodontal procedures.
Every plan is different, so we encourage you to contact our office. Our team can help you better understand how your benefits may apply.
Will I know how much my treatment costs before getting started?
Yes. Following your consultation and examination, we’ll explain your recommended treatment, discuss the associated costs, and provide a treatment estimate before moving forward.
If you have dental insurance, we’ll also help estimate any available benefits so you can better understand your anticipated out-of-pocket expenses. Final insurance payments are determined by your insurance provider.
Does dental insurance cover gum disease treatment or periodontal surgery?
Many dental insurance plans provide some coverage for medically necessary periodontal treatment, including certain procedures used to treat gum disease.
Coverage for treatments such as scaling and root planing, periodontal surgery, and gum grafting varies by plan. Our team can help you understand what benefits may be available for your recommended treatment.
Does insurance cover dental implants or bone grafting?
Some dental insurance plans offer benefits for dental implants, bone grafting, or related procedures, while others have limitations or exclusions.
Because implant treatment is personalized, we’ll review your treatment recommendations and help you understand what your insurance may contribute toward the overall cost.
Do you offer payment plans or financing?
Yes! We offer financing options through CareCredit and Cherry for qualified patients. These options can help make periodontal treatment and dental implants more manageable by allowing eligible patients to spread payments over time.
Our team can help you explore the available options and find an approach that works for your budget.
Do I need a referral from my dentist to schedule an appointment?
No. You can schedule a consultation directly with our office, even if your general dentist has not referred you.
We also work closely with referring dentists to coordinate specialized periodontal and implant care when needed. Some insurance plans may have separate referral requirements for coverage
